Karma Barnes and The Imagine the Land Project are Ambassadors for the Terzo Paradiso Rebirth-day Project - an International Arts collaboration with Michelangelo Pistoletto and Cittadellarte, Fondazione Pistoletto, Italy.  As an ambassador Imagine the Land Project has collaborated on international art projects as well as producing Rebirth-day Projects in Australia and New Zealand.

Michelangelo Pistoletto is considered the master of Arte Povera. Born in Biella, Italy in 1933, he is the creator of the multidisciplinary project Cittadellarte (City of Art) and the Terzo Paradiso Rebirth-day Project. The "third paradise", symbolises a arts social practise movement to create a more harmonious space for humanity in the future and a commitment to inspiring and producing through projects of positive social transformation and responsiblity.

What is the Third aradise?

The Symbol of the Third Paradise is the fusion between the first and second paradise. The first is the paradise in which humans were fully integrated into nature. The second is the artificial paradise, developed by human intelligence to globalizing proportions through science and technology. This paradise is made of artificial needs, artificial products, artificial comforts, artificial pleasures, and every other form of artifice. Humankind has created a truly artificial world which has triggered, in an exponential manner and in parallel with beneficial effects, irreversible processes of decline and consumption of the natural world. The Third Paradise is the third phase of humanity, realized as a balanced connection between artifice and nature.

 

Under the Terzo Paradiso Rebirth-day Project Imagine the Land Project's have been presented at The Third Paradise- Terzo Paradiso YARAT Contemporary Art Centre, Baku, Azerbaijan (2018), The Forum Rebirth Geografias de la transformacion. Havana, Cuba (an exhibition of Terzo Paradiso ambassadors projects) (2017), Third Paradise & the Rebirth Louvre Museum (work presented as part of Michelangelo Pistoletto’s; Year 1: Earthly Paradise) Paris, France (2013) and Imagine the Land's work was presented at the Rebirth-day soiree at the Louvre Museum, Paris, (2013). In 2019 Imagine the Land Project attened the Terzo Paradiso Panel for the UN’s 2030 Agenda for sustainable development  at the MACRO Asilo Contemporary Art Gallery of Rome, Italy.
